Website Design

Website design for Westwood businesses

Website design for clinics, cafés, landlords, shops and studios whose customers are students, patients and Wilshire residents. Each site loads quickly on a phone, says plainly where you are and how to reach you, and stays easy for you to update.

  • Phone first
  • Clear directions
  • Multilingual structure
  • Fast contact paths
  • Yours to own

Website design for readers on a phone, a few blocks away

Your visitors fall into three broad groups. To begin with, students, more than 47,000 of them at UCLA in fall 2025, search on phones and compare quickly. Patients and their families, often worried, also use hospital wifi or mobile data to find a meal, a room or a pharmacy. Finally, residents and staff, from the condo towers along Wilshire to the apartments of North Westwood Village, know the area and want direct answers. Good website design therefore serves all three without making anyone hunt.

Google’s suggestions show no searches for website design in Westwood, so we wrote this page for owners rather than for a keyword. Instead, the suggestions are full of questions customers carry with them: “ucla student housing cost”, “westwood village parking rates”, “how much is a personal trainer in los angeles”, “westwood happy hour menu”. So a useful site answers those questions on pages someone can reach straight from a search.

Many customers here also read in more than one language. The City of Los Angeles named the corner of Westwood Boulevard and Wilkins Avenue “Persian Square” in 2010, and plenty of shops along the Boulevard serve people in both English and Persian. We can build a multilingual page structure, with a separate page per language and the tags that tell Google which is which. However, the wording itself comes from you or your translator.

  • 16,877 households in ZIP 90024, 2020 census
  • $76,583 median household income in that ZIP code
  • 2010 year Persian Square was named

Search demand

Questions your website design should answer for Westwood customers

Collected from Google’s US suggestions in October 2026. Phrases about building websites in Westwood return nothing, so the rows below are questions customers ask, each one a page or section your site could answer.

Search term Intent Why it matters
ucla student housing cost Research Students and parents budgeting, so landlords who publish ranges earn the first look.
apartments near ucla law school High A very specific need, so a page per building or area can meet it directly.
westwood village parking rates Medium Visitors planning ahead, so a short parking section on your contact page helps.
how much is a personal trainer in los angeles Research Price asked openly, so even a “from” figure keeps the reader on your site.
westwood happy hour menu High Wanted as readable text on a phone rather than a photo of a chalkboard.
persian bakery on westwood blvd High A street named in the search, so your address and hours should be easy to spot.
hotels near ucla luskin conference center High Guests with a fixed destination, so walking time and directions do the selling.
how much do real persian rugs cost Research A buyer doing homework, so a plain guide to pricing builds trust before a visit.

Answer the question someone typed

Look at how many of those searches want a cost, a menu, parking details or a particular place. If you hide that behind a download, a pop-up or a phone call, the visitor simply returns to Google. Our page plan therefore starts from questions like these and answers each one in ordinary language, without promising more than you provide.

Template or build

DIY template, or website design planned around Westwood?

Both can make sense. A template works when a shop only needs a basic presence online, whereas a planned build suits a business that expects its site to fill the calendar.

Template builder Built by SEO Westwood
Cost at the start Low at first, then a monthly platform fee One fixed quote
Time it takes you Evenings learning the tool A conversation and a round of edits
Languages Often one, unless you pay for an add-on A separate page per language, set up properly
Local detail Mostly a contact page and a map Directions, parking, transit and landmarks
Ownership Tied to the platform until you rebuild Your domain, on plain WordPress
Best for A basic online presence Bringing in bookings and calls

Why visitors stay or leave

Four questions website design has to settle on every page

Good website design gets a visitor in the door. These four questions decide whether they send a message, book a time or close the tab.

01

Am I in the right place?

Saves a wasted trip

Show your street, the cross street and “Westwood, Los Angeles” near the top or in the footer, along with a map. Then add one line on getting there on foot, by bus along Wilshire or by car. A newcomer should know within seconds whether you are a short walk away.

02

Can I read this on my phone?

Holds attention

Readable type, firm contrast and short paragraphs matter, as well as buttons a thumb can hit on a moving bus. Menus, price lists and hours set as real text instead of images, so they load fast and screen readers can speak them.

03

Is this business real and current?

Builds confidence

Photos of your own team and premises, up-to-date hours, the license that applies to your trade where relevant, and reviews in customers’ own words. Especially where storefronts change hands often, visible signs of recent care count for a lot.

04

How do I reach them?

Turns interest into an inquiry

Email, a brief form and, for businesses that take calls, a number that dials with one tap, repeated on every page. Clinics and studios also get online booking. Add parking and transit pointers, and opening times identical to those on your Google listing.

The work

Website design steps, from the first interview to launch day

01

Research before any layout

We read the Google suggestions for your trade around Westwood and draw up the page list from what people actually ask, before we design a single screen.

02

Copy drafted from an interview

To begin with, we interview you about your customers and your routine, write first drafts, and revise them with you. You approve every page before it goes public.

03

Designed on a phone first

Layouts start at phone width, where thumbs, short attention and bright sun are the test, and widen to desktop afterward.

04

Lean WordPress

Themes written by hand, without a bulky drag-and-drop layer, so pages stay light and the admin area stays easy to find your way around.

05

Search basics built in

Each old URL redirected, proper page titles and tidy headings, an XML sitemap, as well as LocalBusiness schema with your Westwood, Los Angeles address.

06

Handover in your name

At launch we put everything in your business’s name: domain, hosting and the site itself. You also get every password and a short guide to editing hours, menus and team pages without us.

Done carefully

What remains yours

Ground rules we keep for every Westwood client, written down so you can hold us to them.

Our rule
Switching agencies should mean changing one password, nothing more. The domain, the files and the words belong to you from the very start.

Your site runs on standard WordPress, which any competent developer can look after. Photos you supply and text we write for you belong to you, so you can keep, move or edit them as you wish. We also never publish photos of patients, tenants or customers without their written permission.

  4. 04

    Report every month

Questions

Website design questions from Westwood owners

How do you price a website design project?

We give you one firm quote in US dollars once we know the scope. The biggest factors are how many pages you need, any booking or ordering features, how many languages, and whether your photos and text already exist. Domain and hosting companies bill you separately, and they usually cost little.

Could our site have English and Persian versions?

Yes, we can build the structure: separate pages for each language, hreflang tags, a language switcher and matching navigation. Since we do not translate, the Persian text comes from you or a translator you choose. After that, we put it in place and check each version for search.

Should our menu or price list be a PDF?

Usually not, because a PDF opens slowly on a phone and is hard for Google to read. In contrast, a menu written as an ordinary web page loads faster, takes minutes to change and shows up for searches such as “westwood happy hour menu”.

How long does a build take?

Allow several weeks for a site of ten to twenty pages. The schedule depends less on design than on collecting photos, bios and approvals, so we ask for those first.

Will we lose rankings when we switch to a new site?

Not if someone handles the move with care. Rankings fall when old pages disappear without a forwarding address, so we map every existing URL to its new equivalent, set up redirects and watch Search Console after launch.

After launch, must we keep paying you?

No; you pay for the build one time. If ongoing SEO appeals later, the tiers run from $300 (Starter) through $500 (Growth) to $700 (Pro) monthly in USD, and all three cover routine care of the site.
